Busy week for meetings–and Genesee Hill School updates!

There’s a public meeting for everyone this week! Check it out:

Monday, 9/23, Community Conversation on the Future of Seattle Public Library services, 5:30-6:45 p.m. with City Librarian Marcellus Turner at the West Seattle Public Library. More details from the West Seattle Blog are available here.

Tuesday, 9/24 – First Meeting of the West Seattle Transit Coalition, 6:30-9 p.m.+ at High Point Neighborhood House  at 6400 Sylvan Way SW. Find out more here.

Wednesday, 9/25 – Seattle Public Schools Public Meeting on Draft Revisions to Attendance Area Boundaries, 6:30-8 p.m. in the West Seattle High School Commons. More information is available on the district website.

Thursday, 9/26 – Seattle Public Schools Community Conversation on Genesee Hill Elementary School Project, 7-8 p.m. at Schmitz Park Elementary School (in the cafeteria). Seattle Public School’s capital projects team and BLRB Architects will discuss the design progress, including “the project scope, schedule, planned construction activities, environmental (noise and dust), the removal of two exceptional trees,” and take questions. In addition, the 82-page Environmental Checklist for the Genesee Hill School project [prepared to comply with the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) regulations] has been released for public review and comment. Copies may be obtained from the district for $12, reviewed (only) at Schmitz Park Elementary School, or downloaded (free) from the district website. Comments are due by 5 p.m.on October 14 to Pegi McEvoy, 206-252-0102. More information and a link to the downloadable file is available at this page of the district’s website.
