Deadline is this Wednesday, Sept. 18, for Genesee Hill School Departure Advisory Committee

The Seattle Department of Neighborhoods is seeking volunteers who live or own property near the Genesee Hill School site to serve on a Departure Advisory Committee for the new school. The Seattle School District is requesting a waiver (departure) from city zoning regulations to accommodate the 3-story height of the planned new school at Genesee Hill, as well as continued on-street bus loading.

The role of the Departure Advisory Committee would be to seek public input on the school district’s waiver request and to recommend granting the request with or without conditions to minimize the waiver’s impacts on the surrounding neighborhood, or to recommend denial of the departures.

The deadline for applying to be on the Departure Advisory Committee is this Wednesday, September 18. Letters of interest may be sent by e-mail or snail mail; please see this notice for more details on how to apply.
